So you guys allow cursing, or just dont want to get muted for it?
If you check the rules, theres one about foul and vulgar language [me thinks]. So would you guys prefer muting or jail time?
I mean, originally if it was me. I'd give 2 or 3 warnings of excesive swearing/cursing. Then if the player continues I'd jail that char for a day.
Thats what I would do. But Francis decidedto jsut mute you guys, at least you can still walk around and listen to conversations, ratehr then jsut being stuck in a cell, until your times up right?
Etc etc etc. So jail time or mute? Either way, somethign has to be done to enforce the rules right?

All that people are doing is spelling the vulgar words invorrectly to avoid a mute.
I don't see how it's any different.
If we're allowed to say Phuck or Fack, we should be allowed to say fuck.
Because everyone knows what we're trying to say anyway.
And if they don't, they shouldn't be playing an online game. >>;

Pssh.
I don't agree with censorship in any way, unless its porn. Sure, kids shouldn't see that. Censor it.
If vulgar language was such an exerted rule, how come no actions were taken against myself? Any and every curse word is included in every other sentence that comes out of my mouth, including what I type. I know I'm not the only one.
There are so many words in the English language that can be perceived in all different ways by differentl people. Words that are curses now, were not curses years ago. Words that aren't curses now, will be considered swearing.
The only two words I can see you muting people for are Fuck and Shit. Those are the two words I use most. I don't know how "shit" was derived, but I know FUCK was not meant to be a curse. Society today changed the use of the word into a noun, a verb, and an adjective. Same with the other word.
I mean, originally if it was me. I'd give 2 or 3 warnings of excesive swearing/cursing.
Excessive. How do you know when it's excessive? That can mean anything. Cursing every sentence, every few sentences, abusing the word, saying a curse every single word, every two words, every three words.. etc.
No vulgar/foul or sexual language.
Just turn us all into innocent little bible-huggers. Seems like we're all little kids again. Soon enough, we won't be allowed to say words like "Prick" or "vagina" or "penis" or "boobs", maybe even "bewbs." How ridiculous does that sound? It'll happen. That'll turn into a whole censoring of half of the language we speak.
People will just try to get by it anyway. Anyone can curse in a different language and you won't even know it, noticing the lack of diversity in your server. I guess we just can't curse in English, huh? Maybe we can't even curse in Vietnamese, or whatever the ethnicity of that kid is.
If the kid has such a problem with reading curses, why not just ignore it? Isn't that what people normally do when they don't want to see something? Sure, she might not like it because she's a child. I know I didn't. But when people cursed out loud, not even directly at myself, I didn't bitch to their parents that their child cursed so many times and I didn't want to hear it. Did you? If someone you know just burst out into curses right now, would you call their parents up and tell them to take action against him/her? Even if you were a few years younger, would you do that? No, you wouldn't.
I think I'll finish later. I'm busy.

I'm going to keep out of this, because I've already had too many encounters with the cursing ban. >>

Lol, are you serious? This topic must be a joke. Sure, everybody and their mom curses just about everyday of their lives. Not necessarily out loud, but they do it. However just because everybody does it, that doesnt make it ok. Having curse words thrown around left and right makes people unappealing. If a brand new person logs onto the server and sees people cursing left and right, they are more likely to leave the server and never look back. Curse words arent considered friendly and if you wanna draw people to the server, you want the server to seem friendly. I think the muting works just fine. Makes for a friendlier gaming experience. Plus fck doesnt seem as harsh as fuck. Think about it from the point of view of the server owner.

Would you like to provide some proof for that statement? 2. Who said the curses were muted? You just proved my point, thanks kid. -_- If you're going to ban curses, mute them. Don't expect the GMs to mute a player for saying a curse that isn't even filtered out of chat. What's the point in having a ban on words when it's so easy to type one out while the GMs aren't listening?

That in itself is hard, I'm always around, just not always on my GM character. However, Hilo, players do get attracted, and cussing doesn't usually turn them away. Angry people turn them away. Mid rate server turns them away. Annoying people turn them away.
Personally, as long as someone doesn't break out the...
"F*** YOU MOTHER F***ING B***H I'M GONNA F***ING CUT YOUR F***ING FACE OFF YOUR F***ING BODY"
I don't mind that much. A little cussing only hurts protective mothers, and their children.

Yeah. Swearing and Vulgar talk is fine once in a while, and unless you're going to be some bible-hugger as stated above, get off the internet -_-". Oh and, the "kid" thing, Its too late, many kids are already infected. I see grade 1s and 2s out there swearing and stuff. Some people think its makes their e-peen grow bigger if they swear like Tsuki's example there, but uhhm, no. ^__^. Also, a Rant section in the forums would be nice.
